This paper examines the role of e-procurement and digital platforms in enhancing transparency in material sourcing for public projects in Anambra State, Nigeria. It combines documentary analysis with a questionnaire survey of 117 professionals experienced in public construction procurement in the state (83.6% usable response rate). Digital tools were used far more at the tendering stage than after award: accessing tender notices online had a mean score of 3.35 (SD = 0.81), against 1.88 (SD = 0.85) for tracking material management post-award. Respondents strongly supported regular portal updating (M = 3.62, SD = 0.60), digital capture of site delivery records (M = 3.50, SD = 0.68) and linking delivery records to payments (M = 3.56, SD = 0.66). The findings indicate that the transparency value of e-procurement depends on the completeness, timeliness and continuity of information across the procurement cycle, especially after contract award. The study recommends extending digital procurement beyond contract award to cover material ordering, delivery, inspection and payment verification, while strengthening disclosure requirements, system interoperability and professional capacity.
