Digital Transformation and Performance of Public Sector Organisations in Anambra State, Nigeria

This study focused on digital transformation and performance of public sector organisations in Anambra State, Nigeria. Several public sector organisations in Anambra state still face significant challenges such as inadequate technology integration in education, low digital maturity in revenue collection, and limited telehealth capabilities in healthcare which hinder the effective implementation of digital solutions. Hence, the broad objective of this study is to explore the relationship between digital transformation and performance of public sector organisations in Anambra State, Nigeria. Survey research design was employed, and data were collected primarily through a structured questionnaire. The total Population used for this study was 3,220 and the study adopted Taro Yamane formula to determine the sample size of 356 respondents. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and hypotheses were tested with Pearson Product Moment Correlation. The findings revealed that there is significant positive relationship between digital transformation and performance of public sector organisations in Anambra state. Premised on this finding, the study concluded that digital transformation has a significant positive relationship with public sector organisations in Anambra state. It therefore recommended among others that public sector organisations should foster a culture that emphasises the importance of data-driven decision-making, which can be achieved by promoting the use of data analytics in decision-making processes.
