About the Journal

Scope

International Journal of Agriculture, Food and Biodiversity (IJAFAB) is a peer reviewed journal that is published by Faculty of Agriculture, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria.  This Journal emphasizes publication of original research and review based articles that have direct relevance to agriculture and related disciplines especially in the tropics and sub-tropics.  Such publications shall be in the following disciplines including:

  1. Agricultural Economics and Extension;
  2. Animal Production, Physiology and Genetics;
  3. Crop Science, Horticulture, Plant Health Management, Crop Genetics;
  4. Forestry and Wildlife;
  5. Soil Science and Land Resources Management;
  6. Fisheries and Aquaculture;
  7. Food Science and Technology;
  8. Nutrition, Dietetics and Home Economics and related disciplines.

 

Goal

The major goals of IJAFAB are to publish current issues in Agriculture and related discipline, strengthen exchanges and collaborations between Researchers and agro-allied industries and build a strong network among Scientists across the globe.

 

Review of Manuscript

Every new manuscript when received is technically checked by the Managing Editor before sending to the Editor-in-Chief in order to select the appropriate Reviewers. Manuscripts are peer reviewed by at least two independent relevant Reviewers using double blind peer review process (neither the author nor the reviewers are aware of each other's identity). After the review process and upon receipt of the reviews, Editor-in-Chief makes a decision to accept, reject or request for revision. The decision is passed to the Managing Editor who sends notification to the author for further necessary actions. The process of review of manuscripts do not take more than two months after receipt of the manuscripts depending on the cooperation of the corresponding author of the manuscript.

 

Publication

IJAFAB runs open access policy implying that all published manuscripts are made open for potential readers. Two issues are published per year.
