Abstract

Most temperature regulating systems in ovens are usually integrated as a part of control system and controls
exhibited by these systems are problematic in the areas of maintenance and debugging. To achieve the above
task of maintenance, there is a need to design standalone controls which can also be latched to other systems
that require temperature regulation. This paper discusses the design and analysis of a programmable oven
controller. It uses AT89C52 microcontroller as its intelligent device which was programmed in assembly
language to achieve the required oven control. The work covers a detailed information on the system design and
implementation. It also presents the expected performance of the system when implemented in a bakery industry.
The performance was very satisfactory.
