ETUDE FEMINISTE

Abstract

Honoré de Balzac is one of the French writers who through his literary works revealed to us the reality of French society in the nineteenth century. The nineteenth century society sees a woman as an object to enrich, a passive object and a weak being without voice. The woman’s condition and status are one ofsubjects treated globally. The purpose of this study is to examine the status of women in the nineteenth century to see if women are truly weak asEugenie Grandet of Honoré de Balzac or if she functions according to the position, definition, description, and interpretation given to her by the society. This study will hinge on a feminist theory to do a deep study on the subject.

Résumé
Honore de Balzac est l’un des écrivains français qui à travers leurs œuvres littéraires nousdévoilé la réalité de la société française surtout le XIX siècle et dans une mesure la société contemporaine. La société du XIXe siècle voit une femme comme un objet pour s’enrichir, un objet passif et un être faible sans voix. La condition des femmes est l’un des sujets traitéspar les écrivains globalement. Le but de la présente étude est d’examiner la condition de la femme au XIX siècle pour voir si elle est vraiment faible comme il se manifeste dans EugénieGrandetHonoré de Balzac ou si elle fonctionne selon la position, définition, description et interprétation que lui donne par la société. Cette étude s’appuiera sur la théorie féministe, faire une analyse profonde et réaliste du sujet.
