Abstract

The study investigated the effect of Technology Innovation on Financial Reporting Quality of Industrial Goods Firms Listed on the Nigeria Exchange Group. Specifically, the study investigates whether Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) adoption, Cloud Computing Adoption (CCA), and Big Data Analytics Capability (BDAC), significantly influence Financial Reporting Quality (FRQ) of listed Industrial Goods firms in Nigeria. Eleven (11) Listed Industrial Goods, constituted the sample size of the study covering 7-year period, from 2019-2025. Ex-post facto research design was employed, and secondary data were obtained from the annual reports and accounts of the sampled firms, and were analysed using E-Views 12 statistical software. The study employed descriptive statistics and Panel Least Squares Regression was used for the analysis. The findings showed, among other things that, there is a positive and significant relationship between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Financial Reporting Quality (FRQ) with a P-value (significance) of 0.0373. It was recommended, among others, that listed Industrial Goods firms should invest in comprehensive ERP systems to improve the quality, accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of financial reporting, since its adoption significantly enhances financial reporting quality.
