Abstract

Rule of law which is the cornerstone of democratic governance, is persistently being violated in Nigeria, and this significantly undermines Nigeria’s democratic framework. Public trust is being eroded and democratic consolidation stalled by systemic corruption, judicial inefficiencies, and executive overreach irrespective of constitutional guarantees. This paper highlights the manifestations of non-adherence to the rule of law in Nigeria, its implications for democracy, and urgent necessity for reformation.
