Call for Papers / Festschrift in Honor of Engr. Professor Eugene Ekedumogu NNUKA and Engr. Professor Clement Uche ATUANYA

The Faculty of Engineering at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka invites submissions for a Festschrift in honor of the distinguished professors, scholars, administrators, and gentlemen, Professor Eugene Ekedumogu NNUKA and Professor Clement Uche ATUANYA. This Festschrift provides a unique opportunity for authors to contribute to their respective fields of interest, thereby expanding the discourse on the areas of expertise of Professor Eugene Ekedumogu NNUKA and Professor Clement Uche ATUANYA.

 

Engineer Professor Eugene Ekedumogu Nnuka, born on November 28, 1954, in Ukpor, Anambra State, is a highly respected metallurgical expert in Nigeria. He is a professor at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where he has dedicated his career to teaching, research, and service. Prof. Nnuka earned his doctorate in Materials Science from the Belarus State Academy of Sciences in 1985.

As a registered engineer in Nigeria, Germany, and Russia, Prof. Nnuka has played crucial roles in various industries, universities, and professional bodies. His wide-ranging research focuses on the development of aluminum alloys, addressing environmental concerns, and exploring applications of indigenous clay.

Beyond his academic achievements, Professor Nnuka has been actively involved in guiding and supervising numerous theses. His commitment to sharing knowledge is reflected in his extensive publications. In addition to his academic contributions, Prof. Nnuka has served as the National President of the Nigerian Metallurgical Society. His impact extends to community service, demonstrating a holistic approach to his role as an educator and expert in metallurgy.

 

Professor Clement Uche Atuanya, a distinguished Nigerian metallurgical expert, was born on January 26, 1954, in Anambra State. As a seasoned academic, he earned his Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering in 2013 and has been a Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at Nnamdi Azikiwe University since 2016.

Prof. Atuanya's academic journey spans prestigious institutions globally, including the University of Benin, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and Huddersfield Polytechnic in the UK. His rich educational background is complemented by significant professional experience, such as working in steel industries in Ukraine and contributing to projects for companies like Chevron and NNPC in Nigeria.

A registered engineer, Prof. Atuanya has made invaluable contributions to his field. His extensive research has been published in reputable journals, and he has served as an external examiner for postgraduate programs. Additionally, he actively engages in community service, holding leadership roles in various committees at both university and faculty levels.

 

We welcome submissions in two categories:

  1. Articles: Manuscripts of up to 5000 words (including Abstract, Introduction, Method, Discussion of Results, Conclusion, and References) are encouraged. Submissions should have a substantive and/or methodological focus that connects with the work of Professor Eugene Ekedumogu NNUKA and/or Professor Clement Uche ATUANYA while making a significant contribution to the existing literature.
  2. Short Pieces: We invite short pieces, collectively entitled 'Appreciative Connections,' each within 500 words. Each piece should describe some aspect of Professor Eugene Ekedumogu NNUKA and/or Professor Clement Uche ATUANYA's work or working, emphasizing its influence on other research and researchers at the individual, institutional, or academic field level.
