Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into education is reshaping classroom
management, presenting both opportunities and challenges for teachers. This
chapter explores effective strategies for managing AI-enhanced learning
environments, drawing on classical and contemporary theories, including
behaviourist, social–constructivist, and humanistic perspectives. It examines AI
driven tools such as adaptive learning systems, intelligent tutoring platforms, and
learning analytics dashboards for lesson organization, behaviour monitoring, and
personalized learning. Key teacher competencies are highlighted, including digital
pedagogical skills, classroom leadership, student engagement and behaviour
management in blended or virtual settings, and effective use of AI for time and
resource management. Ethical, equity, and data privacy considerations are
emphasized, alongside challenges such as infrastructural limitations, professional
capacity gaps, and resistance to change. The chapter provides practical strategies
for establishing digital norms, structuring lessons, promoting positive interactions,
and using AI-supported assessment to enhance classroom management. It
concludes by stressing the need to balance human agency with AI intelligence,
ensuring that technology supports equitable, engaging, and effective learning.
