Publication Ethics Statement
PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT
The Journal of Current Biomedical Research (JCBR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) Core Practices and expects authors, editors, and reviewers to adhere to these principles.
- Responsibilities of Authors
- Originality: Authors must ensure that their work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by another journal.
- Plagiarism: All submissions are screened for plagiarism and similarity. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, fabricated data, or manipulated images will be rejected or retracted.
- Authorship: All listed authors must have made a significant contribution to the research and agree to the submitted version. Contributions should follow the CRediT taxonomy (conceptualization, methodology, writing, etc.).
- Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence their work.
- Data and Materials: Authors should make underlying data available upon request and deposit data in repositories where appropriate.
- Human and Animal Research: Research involving humans or animals must comply with ethical standards, obtain approval from an institutional review board (IRB), and include informed consent where applicable.
- Responsibilities of Editors
- Editorial Independence: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, without regard to authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, or nationality.
- Fair Play: Decisions are based on relevance, originality, clarity, and validity.
- Confidentiality: Editors and staff must not disclose information about a submission to anyone other than those directly involved in the editorial process.
- Conflicts of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a competing interest.
- Corrections and Retractions: Editors will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary, following COPE guidelines
- Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted fairly and constructively, avoiding personal criticism.
- Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where they have competing interests.
- Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their evaluations promptly.
- Handling Misconduct
- Plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification are unacceptable.
- If misconduct is suspected, JCBR will investigate according to COPE procedures. Proven misconduct may result in retraction, author bans, and notification of the authors’ institution.
- Corrections and Retractions
- Corrections (Errata): Published when errors are identified that do not affect the validity of results.
- Retractions: Issued when major errors or misconduct invalidate a paper.
- Expressions of Concern: Published when investigations are ongoing.
- Open Access & Licensing
- JCBR publishes all content under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
- Authors retain copyright, and articles are freely available for use, distribution, and reproduction with proper attribution.
